Giving a whole new meaning to coffee tasting like crap, the secret behind the special blend about to go on sale at an upmarket department store in London, is that it is made from cats’ droppings. The beans are extracted from the droppings of the palm civet, a cross between a cat and a monkey which lives in Indonesia.

Pioneer Woman writes "Researchers at Hebrew University in Jerusalem have found a link between a gene called AVPR1a and ruthless behavior. These findings come from an economic exercise called the 'Dictator Game' that allows players to behave selflessly, or like national dictators and 'little Hitlers' found in workplaces the world over. The team decided to look at AVPR1a because it is known to produce receptors in the brain that detect vasopressin, a hormone involved in 'prosocial' behavior. Researchers tested DNA samples from more than 200 student volunteers, before asking the students to play the game that measured their altruism. There was no connection between the participants' gender and their behavior but there was a link to the length of the AVPR1a gene."

Poor Bessy, the Guitar Hero cow is getting her teats squeezed raw by Activision. Hands-On Mobile announced another addition to the GH III oeuvre as the "number one selling" mobile version of Guitar Hero III became available for BlackBerry smartphones. Come on Bessy, just keep squirting.

According to Hands-On the mobile version of Guitar Hero III has achieved 7.5 million song downloads in less than six months and will be available on the nation's top four mobile carriers by April. Oh well, more power to 'em. Observing someone play GH III on a phone can't possibly be more awkward than it'll be watching someone play the DS version of GH III on the subway in the morning.

Ian Rogers Leaves Yahoo To Start His Own Gig

Ian Rogers, Yahoo’s vice president of video and music applications, has left the company to launch a startup of his own, according to a post on his personal blog. Ian has joined forces with Peter Gotcher and Shamal Ranasinghe to launch the new company which is unsurprisingly music related, and is called Topspin Media.

The company is in stealth mode at the moment, and not much is known about it; what we do know, however, is that it’s going to be a new digital music distribution model for indie artists.

In his blog post, Ian dropped an interesting bit of info on us. While still at Yahoo, he was apparently working on an “insanely cool stealth product” which was also his “primary music listening vehicle.” I haven’t been too impressed with Yahoo’s music efforts so far, but maybe they surprise me with this one - if it ever goes live.
