After I left California and took a little pit stop back home for a time---before I met Marlboro Man---I became a bit of a serial dater. Back in California, I'd remained 100% faithful to James during our four-plus year relationship, and though he and I were still technically "together", I was 2000 miles ...

Mark Frauenfelder:
The reviews for my book, Rule the Web, are coming in, and I'm really happy that they've been so positive.
Josh Glenn who writes the Brainiac Blog for the Boston Globe, ran a review today called Web 2.0 Visionaries vs. the Handyman. (I'm the handyman):

Well, besides the whole we-love-each-other-and-want-to-have-children thing, and the we-have-nothing-better-to-do-during-those-long-winter-days-on-the-ranch thing. The real reason ranchers have offspring is to ensure themselves a built-in, always-available work crew.

Congratulations, Kalin! Gosh, it was a really hard-fought battle, but in the end your ultra-clever and highly original title won the gold. The play on words was impressive enough, but then you had to go and throw in a nod to DuranDuran...and let's just say that sealed the deal for this eighties queen. ...

What's better than retro games? Retro gaming food! Over at website UK:RESISTANCE, where all the cool kids get their SEGA news, they've posted pics of Daddies Tomato Ketchup featuring Sonic the Hedgehog. The pics are recent, but the bottle dates from 1991, back when Sonic was HUGE. What's in a bottle ...

Maybe. If Spanish site La Trifuerza are to be believed. They're claiming Microsoft have told them the console will hit European shores on August 24, for the princely sum of ?449,95 (USD$605). Reliable source? Who knows, I've never heard of them, but that price and that date certainly seem within the ...

Kids and students of Japanese have it rough. There are tons of kanji characters that can make things like reading comic books or playing video games hard, if not impossible. You've got to memorize them! Comics geared at children put phonetic furigana characters above the intricate kanji so that children ...

GO3? Not so hot. That's not to take anything away from Australia's potential as a locale for a gaming expo, though. Really, it's a lovely place. The GDAA (Games Developers' Association of Australia) know this, so they're taking their own stab at staging a major expo in the region.
Called Game Connect ...

IGN's digital shopfront Direct2Drive just jumped into bed with THQ. The fruit of their union is the news that a whole range of THQ titles will now be available on the service, including some that are actually quite good.
Company of Heroes and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. probably head the list as far as recent critical ...

So what if Square Enix isn't gracing the PS3 with a game until 2008? So what. Final Fantasy XIII is married to PS3 hardware. Just listen to Square Enix character creator Tetsuya Nomura (above, into jewerly) drone on about the PLAYSTATION 3:

Things to keep in mind about Nagoshi:
He always wears white to appear darker.
He does not save his money and lives ...
